Gilmartin's a great teacher and shows clearly what the right and left hands are doing. He now has three or four of these DVDs out, and actually some of the later ones are more geared to the beginner even than the first one. great stuff. They were the most expensive packages available but extremely well produced. What a shame though that when the DVD versions were issued we were not allowed to purchase just the DVDs having already got and payed for the books. The DVD format obviously has huge benefits over the old VHS tapes in searching quickly to find particular toques of interest and rapid navigating back and forth. I really think that Encuentro has a duty to their original customers to oblige, as do all software manufacturers who provide affordable updates of earlier versions. Of course I could go to the time and trouble of converting to digital (for personal study use only) but would have to code in all the sections to make it worthwhile. Come on Encuentro - be reasonable. you have done a good job and I have given you £100s of pounds, so let me give you some more money and let me buy just the DVDs. I already have the books. I haven't seen the material recommended for beginners or intermediate, so can't comment on that. Actually, I haven't seen the Encuentro Gerardo Nunez either, but know the quality and level of his music, and once took a class with him, so know his approach to technique is worth study. What I suggest is to put a list of the album tracks the falsetas and pieces are from where appropriate, and list the keys and tunings that the pieces are in. I cannot seem to find this info anywhere, and would like to know before I buy. Thanks, mark hi, your article makes a lot of sense.
