Hey Anthony, good to see you're practicing so much.
What do you mean by ear training exactly? At school it was like, being able to hear modes, intervals, chords, etc.that someone else was playing. How do you go about studying that? |

i have a program called earmaster school. it trains exactly what you wrote, your ability to recognize intervals, scales, chords, etc. right now, i'm working on just identifying the larger interval.
so the program works by giving a series of tests. right now, it picks two random intervals for me to choose the larger of the two. i'm currently stuck on descending intervals. ![]() next up, is identifying the intervals themselves. i'm pretty good at ascending intervals, but descending, i'm hopeless. i absolutely hate ear training but i think it'll come in handy. |

day 6
technique: arpeggio - 45 minutes slurs - 20 repertoire: fandangos - 10 solea por bulerias - 15 sevillanas - 10 other: practiced my composition - 90 scales - 15 ear training - 30 i guess i should go into more detail about what i'm actually doing. for the fandangos, i'm working on a specific alzapua section. for the solea por bulerias, i'm working on these tricky picado sections. i've been practicing more scales than usual lately to get my picado into shape. i'm having difficulty switching from and to picado with other techniques. the sevillanas, i never really played or listened to sevillanas before so i'm just getting my four sevillanas tight into compas and polishing them up to performance standard. ear training, like i said in the previous post, i'm stuck on this one lesson that i can't pass and there's only so much i can do before my ear gets tired. so i'll have to pick it up again tomorrow.
