For me I go back and forth between LaBella and D'Addario. LaBella because they are so easy and fun to play and D'Addario because, well, they sound a heck of a lot better

I have tried most brands and different combination's. For both the Andres Dominguez and my homemade 1972 Negra, I use the La Bella 820B, then when the D wears I replace it with a D'Addario Pro-Arte D. Then when the D and A are worn, I put on D'Addario Pro-Arte bass set. When these wear down, I replace the whole set again with LaBella 820B. The LaBella black trebles seem to have a better tone to my ears than the red. Back in the 70's I used LaBella 820 red trebles and Saverez red card basses on my Pimental cypress and spruce peghead. Saverez basses don't seem the same as they were back then.

I always use Hannabach Flamenco Super High Tension 827SHT.
I own a cheap Vicente Sanchis guitar and this set of strings give it a a great flamenco sound. |

To Rubin Diaz:
Ruben I'm sorry but i did not like the sound of the strings or the guitar. Perhaps it was just the recording or perhaps the guitar itself. I have large speakers with my computer. I noticed that you also had more skin than nail when you play. That was interesting. I would also like to contribute something like you did to this site. I would like this site to become very popular! My website is federico-flamenco.com. I'm not really selling anything yet, so the administrator shouldn't get mad. Thank you for the lesson f.bestevaar@yahoo.com Se habla espanol |

I have used the set labeled Dark Silver (from Luthier Corp.) They have an interesting sound and for what it's worth, they have Paco's picture on the back ;-)
Make sure they have the polished trebles. I did get a batch once where the trebles seemed 'frosted' and hated them. As always your mileage may vary... |

Hi.well after buying every set avail online i finally settled on the luthier popular supreme [red lable] for my guitar. guess this all subjective to the instrument just found these the loudest, long lasting and even singing tone. i did like the savares plastic trebles however and the Mari strings were ok. pro artes a good string you can get anywhere but just found them a bit 'tubby' sounding without to much projection. happy searching. guess what works best is the best for you.

I am about to do the same thing as Ramirez1987... I've ordered about 8 sets of various brands from Stringsonline and I start testing this weekend.... It's going to take a few months or so but I'll keep positing my opinions...
