Just curious, how often do you change strings, how many do you change, and do you mix tensions or brands?
Currently the best mix I've found is D'addario trebles and LaBella basses, both normal tension. I change the basses about every 2 weeks and and the trebles every 2 months or so.

Hi Deteresa,
I use D' Addario EJ 46 hard tension. My basses I chainge every 4 weeks, but after 3 weeks I do a little trick, I shuff the bass strings. I unwind them and shuff the whole string to the right, so I just have a little room to knot it on the tuning machines, and the part you normally play with your right hand I cut off. This way you have a new piece of strings at your right and your left hand. ( the worn out piece is near the sound hole now). The trebbles I do also every 2 months. This all counts for my " performing " guitar, I want my strings in top condition than, with my other guitars I change all the strings after 3 or 4 moths. |

Yeah I hear you, I have one guitar that I haven't changed the strings on in literally over a year, and I play it almost every day lol. It's hanging in my living room just to mess around on. Hey it still sounds like a guitar... probably because it's really old and broken in and has a cedar top. Interesting about shuffing the basses, I might try that. I've also heard of people taking the basses off and cleaning them.
