Thanks alot, I hope so too!

By the way, I forgot to mention, there's quite some videos of my future teacher on youtube. This is him: YouTube - Rezar Dominguez plays Queen; "Bohemian Rhapsody"

He has also made quite some lesson videos.

Default Graf Marinez

I just started out with Flamenco and I must say, for me works the methoe of Graf Martinez very well. I like the fact, that there are for beginners playable exercises to build up strength and duration as well as technique grdually.

Default Juan Martin

I forgot to mention, that i also find the DVD release of Juan Martins standard appealing. A good option to delve into flamenco at the beginning - especially if a live teacher, which would be the best option of course, is not affordable.

So- is anyone finding my recordings helpful to play along to?

Im not posting them out of vanity- just to help out people trying
to play en compas and dont know how.

I was thinking of recording the JM bulerias from pg95 with palmas, and
I just got the feeling that maybe I should ask the group directly before
I spend time on something that no one is using.

thanks!

I am finding your Seguiriyas recording extremely useful. I'm am working through the book in order so it would be a while before I am looking at the Bulerias, but maybe some of the others have already learnt it and would benefit from a recording to play along with.

Regards,
Mark

Thanks- I'll keep it up then.

My teacher tells me that the order of the lessons in the books are
not laid out very well. Certain advanced techniques appear too early.
Its ok to skip around. When I decided what palos to learn, I picked out
all of the "puro" CDs I had and picked about 12 palos that appeared most
often. Im still putting off Malagueña since it sounds like dorky tourist
music to me a lot of the time.

I recorded a video of myself playing Juan Martin's Seguiriyas in the hope that I could get some feedback on my technique? If anyone has the time to comment you can check the video out here. I've only been learning this one for about a week but I'm picking it up much faster than the first piece which I'm happy about

Cheers,
Mark.

Mark,
Hard to tell from the camera sound but I think you played about as well as he does so good job. Your tempo and compas were good except in the rhythm parts you sped up just a bit.
Well done!

As a side note, maybe we should start posting these in different threads? It just makes it easer to find.

Thanks for the feedback deteresa. Yeah the sound quality is rubbish. The only camera I had that would record video was my mobile phone. I'm planning on recording a proper version with a better microphone at some stage. Just wanted to make sure that there isn't anything horribly wrong with my technique before I keep pushing on.

Cheers,
Mark.
