HI Graham,
Looks very nice, headstock like Ramirez. Do I see a tapered fretboard? Little lower at the bass side, or is it just optical? I had a Jose Lopez bellido with a tapered fretboard, very comfertable to play. Nice Roset too! Payul |

I've measured it and it is the same height bass and treble - blame my poor photo ![]() Interestingly Kevin Richards is a fan of Bellido and the bracing on this negra soundboard is based on Bellido designs. |

I obtained a Jeff Sigurdson Flamenca Blanca 2 yrs ago...Cypress back/sides-Spruce top with a built-in pickup. This is paired with a 79 Ramirez 1a setup like a negra. Anyone looking for a Flamenco luthier would do well to take a serious look at Jeff's instruments. This is a beautiful instrument..very light..with a very crisp and biting tone. The fit of the pegs to the headstock is incredible and the guitar is easy to tune and stays in tune to an extraordinary degree.

Okay, I'm new to the forum and new to flamenco (from the standpoint of playing). I'm shopping for a guitar, since neither of my current guitars are nylon string, let alone flamenco.
I'm not ready to lay down big bucks. Does anyone have experience with or opinion about a Yamaha CG-171SF? |

recently...well a year and a half ago picked up a mint 87 ramirez 1af with pegs. spruce top. guess this my entry into flamenco guitars. living in australia have'nt found one that compares to this instrument...well maybe a conde media luna seemed to offer a more powerful sound in the basses. at this point in time am really happy with this instrument. recently bought a karuara carbon fibre case as a way of protecting the instrument agaisnt varying temperatures and airlines!!...have a suspicion i may have paid too much for this instrument AU$6800...still enjoying it's tone and is stillopening up...it was left under a bed for 15 years before i bought it...use luthier blue as strings...love the pegs..no tuning issues...well maybe the first couple of weeks but sits beautifully onced tuned...

Hi, this maybe a long-shot, I have an old Flamenco Peg Head Guitar Made from solid spruce Top solid Spanish Cypress back & Sides Cedar neck and Ebony Fingerboard there is no label inside Only a signature written in pen on the rear centre joining strip inside, and says P Humphreys Dec 1970. A lovely guitar a bit tatty but very stable and very very light in weight, hand carved headstock, action perfect, and a very authentic sound. Has anyone heard of this particular Luthier (been told he might also be a Fiddle Maker) any info would be much appreciated.
Thank Phill ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
