Payul,
HUGE props for the picture of your hands. I am close to finding a "groove" that fits me. This picture solidified my feeling of being on the right track. |

As I said in a post above, try taking 20 mg of the vitamin, "biotin," every day and then apply 3 coats of "Nailtiques" to your nails....... |

I had my nails done a couple of times. Now I just do them myself. I clip them, file them to where I want, then I apply nail hardener. I use nail polish remover to remove the nail hardener just before I get ready to put on a new coat of nail hardener. I also take a vitamin called Biotin which has helped quite a bit.

Which Nailtiques product do you use, for added strength?

I currently use two products that have completely eliminated all problems that I used to have with nails breaking, chipping, and bending.
The first is a product that you can find at most drug stores called Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails. It is a citrus smelling cream that you rub on your nails and massage in. It takes a couple of days to kick in, but once it does, it lasts for at least a week. I could use that product exclusively, but just to be sure, I also use a nail hardener that I bought a few weeks ago. You can find it at Whole Foods because it is an all natural product. Superglue has poisons in it that leach into your body through the nails. This is much healthier for you and works great. No-Miss :: Nail Strengthener The nail hardener does not chip away and is very pliable to allow for the strength that you need to keep the nails intact and the flexibility that you need for an optimal tone. As a bonus, it hardens in about 10 minutes. You can't ask for anything more. Additionally, you only need one or maybe two layers. Then you are good for several days. Please try at least one of these products. I kid you not, my issues are resolved thanks to these two things. I will try to post pictures of my hand later. -Dzakovich000 |

Thanks for your PM, sorry can not reply directly as I do not have enough posts yet. Yes - I am a 'real' fruit farmer., mostly Asian Pears and apples. Thanks also for the post response. Farming is very hard on nails. I guess Flamenco and farming are not really compatible. . . |

That's awesome! I worked at a Botanic Garden this summer so I know what you mean. I was breaking nails left and right this summer until I started using both of those products. I know I sound like a salesman, but I am not affiliated with either company. Just try them and you will be set for life. -Michael |

Flamenco and bowling do not work either... Tried it once... had all five nails break off simultaneously in the first throw...
Yep... do not go bowling if you have your Flamenco nails going... ![]() |

I use both.......You can also try using an acrylic powder on the tip of your nails after you first apply a thin coat of crazy glue...I learned this from a professional flamenco guitarist who worked at a flamenco dance studio in New York City......Just make sure that the tip of each finger nail does not have a bump anywhere after the glue and powder dry, or a guitar string will get caught on it and rip the glue and powder off...I would file down the bumps before you start to play......
