Everyone needs warming up and some motivation in order to get through practicing endless scales and chord patterns. Personally I like to put on the headphones (mostly to drown out the noise around me) and play some of my favorite practice songs in order to get me in the groove. I find that by doing this I end up having a more productive practice as it motivates me and removes any thoughts that may have been occupying my mind at that time. Practice becomes much more focused and fun!
The key here is not to focus so much on playing the song perfectly but more to loosen up and relax. Change your mindset to have fun and afterwards when its time to get serious your practice will benefit. Here are some songs I enjoy warming up to: Ketama - Buelrias de Olivar (bulerias) Vicente Amigo - Tres notas para decir te quiero Jose Merce - En tu silencio (solea) Jose Merce - Juana (tangos) It would be great to read some of your recommendations and favorite songs! |
