Is it possible to post pieces on the forum you’ve recorded? There are no flamenco teachers near where I live and it would be good to get some feedback.

I am sure we can do that... I will look into it and post back here with an update.

Hi Mik,
It is now possible to embed MP3 in post! Its pretty simple to do and you can read how to do it here: MP3 Player in a Post! Look forward to listening to your recordings! |

I followed the link Falseta, but I didn't follow how to embed the mp3. Can you explain in more detail, please.

Unfortunately, I don't have a web page. Any suggestions as to what other site might act as 'host'? Thanks

I dont have any suggestions at the moment... I will post back with an update to the mp3 streaming feature as I do think this is a great idea and something that we should have here on the forum.

Hi Mik,
I think I got it working! So here is what you do forget about the previous way I described and just use attachments on the forum post. If you are used to doing quick replies make sure to use the "Go Advanced" and use the add attachment feature. Just attach your mp3 file to your post and the forum will take care of the rest. |

Trying out the mp3 upload. This is part of the Farruca from Juan Martin's Guitar Method 'El Arte Flamenco'. I haven't memorized it yet and these are 2 facing pages! Excuse the metronome and the short 'warm up' at the start. Look forward to your comments!

Hi, Mik.
You've come a long way with this Farruca, and most of it will continue to improve naturally as you just play it more and you are able to let go a little. The one exception is your tremolo. You may not be aware that you are playing it "staccato", that is, cutting the tremolo notes short. Slow it down until you can make each tremolo note last and "sing", just like you already do with your arpeggios. Then gradually speed it back up until the tremolo notes last at full speed, too. With the exception of the tremolo, you are well on your way to playing this piece very well. As I said, it will flow more naturally just by playing it more, if you take the time to fix the tremelo problem. Please let me know if any of this is unclear. |
