Default Modal falsetas for Alegrias?

Some years back I heard a really nice modal Alegrias variation played in a 'Spanishy-type' Hollywood film. (MIght have been a Zorro film?) Never really figured out how to play it. I think it was sort of like C to E to F to G and back to to C again, but not sure?

Anybody know this falseta, or any other similar modal falsetas for Alegrias? Where can I find a tab, etc.?

Smile La Rosa Alegrias with a C and E chord.

If there was a "C" chord in the alegrias and an "E" chord, then the piece was a "La Rosa" alegrias which uses those chords, or a "Cantinas" alegrias...A regular alegrias only uses an "A" and "E7th" chord.....If you want to find the tab for this piece, look no further than: Affedis Flamenco Transcriptions Also, try Welcome to Flamenco Connection I have uploaded my former flamenco guitar teacher, Mario Escudero, who was one of the top 3 players in the world, playing a "La Rosa" on "YouTube."

Thanks for the info. Could not find anything in the Alfredis site. Also , do you have a link for your upload of Mario Escudero playng La Rosa?

Do you know the chord progression for this form of Alegrias? Is it C-E-F-G and back to C again?

The link to the Escudero video is: YouTube - MARIO ESCUDERO IN A RARE FILMED PERFORMANCE (Por Rosas: Alegrias)

If this link does not work, simply go to You Tube and write in the search box: Mario Escudero.

The Chord progression for the La Rosa Alegrias is: E chord to a B7th chord to a E chord again to an A chord to an E chord again then to a B7th and then back to an E chord........

Of course the strumming of the chords is as follows: The E chord 6 times down strum, a rasqueado on the B7th chord with 3 strums with the forefinger, the E chord you do the same with an extra strum, the A chord the same: a rasgueado with 3 strums with the forefinger, to the E chord with a rasqueado and the same for the B7th then back to the E chord......

I hope I have explained the correct opening of the La Rosa for you....

If you want a transcription of a La Rosas, I have 2. One is a incomplete one by Escudero, and the other is a complete one by Sabicas which is easy to play. I say "easy," because it is slow with few technical difficulties for an average player, but it is an Alegrias from Sabicas' late period," and is considered his best one....If you want either, or both of these pieces, I would need your e-mail address to send them to you, via an attachment.....I can not post the Sabicas piece on this page because of copyright laws....The transcription is still for sale to the public.......
