Default Handbuilt Flamenco guitars in Canada???

I'm in the market for a quality hand-built flamenco or flamenco - negra guitar.

Anybody know of a guitar builder in Canada who makes good flamenco guitars. And what should I expect to pay for a quality hand-made instrument.

i've heard good things about jeff sigurdson.

you can get a really good guitar for about 1000 -2000.

honestly, forget about negra. they're more expensive.

check out francisco navarro from mexico. his U.S. distributor is Ron Hudson from texas. i bet you can get a KILLER deal! i bought a guitar from him recently. i've heard great things about both his student and his concert model.

also check out salvador castillo. if you email him directly, you may be able to get a guitar for around 2000.

Default handmade guitars, and TABS?

Thanks for your input. I never heard of either of those Mexican luthiers. But I like the look of Castillo's instruments, and may take harder look at one in the near future.

By the way, he (Castillo) plays some really nice Seguiriyas falsetas on his demo video "Flamenco Nueva". Do you know these falsetas and if any TABS are available for them?. Love to play them. . .

Did you encounter any problems shipping your guitar from Mexico to the US?

No problem with shipping whatsoever. It came with a lightweight hard foam case. perfect for gigs. and it shipped from texas actually.

the guitar i bought lists for 1,700. but i got a killer deal. if you PM me, i can tell you exactly how much i paid.

dont know about the siguiriya falseta.

Britguy: You will love the work of Jeff Sigurdson. A luthier from Abbotsford, BC who crafts
exquisite flamenco guitars. I obtained a traditional flamenca blanca with pegs 2 years ago with a built-in pickup. It is beautiful, solid, light, has a wonderful crisp..biting tone and plays
as well or better than some $5000+ Ramirez or Condes that I have tried. Call him and discuss your next guitar with him. You won't be sorry!!
