What do you guys think about a 12-hole bridge.?
Is there any noticeable improvement in tone, due to the sharper break angle. Or is it just more convenient to re-string? Does it weaken the bridge tie-block to any extent? I'm having a guitar custom-built and am wondering if I should specify a 12-hole bridge. |

from what i understand, a guitar only needs a certain amount of break angle. anymore than needed wont necessarily be an improvement.
you can experiment with this on your current guitar. tie your strings with beads instead of the traditional way and see if you can notice any improvement. tying strings is a bit easier. and looks neat. you have to be careful with the high E though. who is building your guitar? ![]()

I did see something on a Ruben Diaz YouTube video about the extra break angle contributing to improved tone. And my Gil de Avalle (Granada) guitar also has a 12-hole bridge. Just wondering if it was becoming standard practice these days? And if so, then why?
My new guitar (flamenco negra, Braz. rosewood/ European spruce) is being built by Salvador Castillo. I hope to have it before Christmas. |

be wary of "dr. diaz." it's very clear that he just wants to sell his own guitars.
