There is a very interesting blog about the excitement of getting a new flamenco guitar on MySpace Miguelito
In reponse, I wrote the following: Really enjoyed your great blog about your new flamenco guitar. Thanks for taking the time to write it and for including the pictures. It reminded me of when I bought my Sobrinos de Esteso in Madrid way back in 1971. I had heard that they don't show you their best guitars until they get to know you a little, so I went back to the shop several times. Eventually I said, "None of the guitars I've played so far are quite right. Do you have anything else?" They replied, "Well we do have this one over in the corner here, but it has some imperfections..." Within 30 seconds I knew this was the guitar for me. I bought it for $300 (top price in Madrid at the time), and it's the guitar I'm still playing today. Bob |
