Jason McGuire has a new flamenco metronome that is in a trial beta version, available for free use online at
doctorcompas.com It has some serious soniquete, with both palmas (sordas and altas) and cajon tracks, which sound amazing. All major palos are included, the metronome actually improvises so it doesn't repeat the same patterns over and over, it is tempo-adjustable (from 40bpm to 300bpm), and there is a display that helps you know where you are in the compás. Enjoy Maissam |

Looks pretty cool... I take it you are the developer on the project? Can you tell us if it will eventually have a cost? It is currently in beta, any date for a release canidate?
Going to try it now... Best of luck! |

Yes I developed the code, and Jason is the musical mastermind behind the idea. We don't have a date for a release set, hopefully it will be within the next few months. There are several features we want to add, like an equalizer and the ability to record the audio directly to mp3, and even more sophisticated ways of dealing with the compás patterns, which we are still in the process of developing. The full-featured program will eventually have a cost, but there may be a scaled-back free version always online.
Please let us know if you have any comments or suggestions! |
