Default Rioja in soundhole

Hi All,

Yesterday I was playing at a big party.
Somebody asked me to borrow mine guitar to play a bit too...
And what we are all affraid for, just happened.
A woman pased by, and with her dress she throwed over a full glas of red Rioja wine.
The most of it landed in the soundhole of the guitar.

I saw it happen and took the guitar from the guy that was playing and try to shake it all out.
But the bad thing has happened allready.....all the inside of the guitar was red from the Rioja.

I tried to get the rest out with toilet paper, but the guitar was still very red.

At home I let it dry overnight, and this morning something strainge has happened.

I took the guitar from the wall, played it, and the sound was increadible! loud, full, earthy, and with a very sweet undertone, I could allmost hear the soil the tree had grown on, the guitar is made from....
The sound have ingreased unbelievable!

Under a picture from the inside from my guitar, all red from the Rioja!

Should it stay this way?

If so, I think I buy a good Rioja and do it to my other guitars too

Only Rioja, at_leo_87, only Rioja, not an ordinary wine!

You got me! Awesome... I felt bad for you for a while... its always a bit un-nerving when someone you dont know asks to play your guitar... Then when the wine spilled I thought to myself "see. thats why you dont lend your guitar out..."

yeah, unless they know what they're doing, i dont like other people touching my guitar, especially non-flamencos who try to do crazy tourrettes rasgueados or john bonham drum solo golpes on my poor guitar.

Never heard of this! I always thought the best thing you could put on your guitar was to polish it with rosin, and do the neck.......but wine no. Rosin, yes. At some point the wine is going to rot, but maybe it's cured, I don't know. Only time will tell......

Default Perhaps you got lucky

Maybe the wine caused the body of the guitar to expand a bit with swelling and then after it dried out it shrunk causing a tighter body. I know with many cheap guitars that I have left in a hot car they sound much better after they have been cooked a while, but you take the chance of destroying the guitar for good.

I live in the tropics where you deal with swelling all the time and the difference the guitar sounds like after your in a room with A.C.
