Just to clarify. The golpe written above the chord is performed with your ring finger hitting the top of the guitar on the treble side. The golpe written below the chord is performed with either your index or middle finger hitting the top of the guitar as you strike the chord coming from the bass side down towards the treble strings.

Seems there is no standard for Golpe. This reminds me of the issue with the Pinky finger. Different sources use alot of different symbols: e, q, r, etc. Thank goodness their is concensus around PIMA.

In his notation Graf-Martinez uses,

Square above the scale for a ring-finger golpe, a square at the bottom for an index or middle finger above the bass strings, and a solid black square for a thumb golpe, something the gypsies seem to favor. He also uses an "M" for a palm golpe, much like Juan Serrano also does. Again, there doesn't seem to be a standard, but I like his notations for that particular issue.

It would be nice if he would use the notation for barres in his standard music notation. But he doesn't even bother to note them at all.

Ive figured out a good method for notation if using tablature software.
Use the chord name feature to add a "G" above the space where you
will golpe.
