Hi everyone.
My name is John, and I have been playing guitar for a couple years, mainly just basic acoustic guitar. I think I could be classified as a professional couch strummer. My inspiration to play guitar came after hearing Mediterranean Sundance. Slowly, my playing has evolved to wanting to learn flamenco style. I got a Cordoba student flamenco model, and have been learning via YouTube. (I faithfully practice my triplets everyday ) I've been practicing flamenco for about three months now.Just yesterday, I found a Conde Hermanos flamenco guitar in another city. The seller e-mailed me some pictures, and it looked in decent shape. So, I had my son pick it up for me. Less than a hundred bucks, so I took the risk without playing it first. I'll get it in a couple weeks when my son comes to visit...can't wait! I like listening to Spanish pop music. My favorite group is La Quinta Estacion. I don't speak Spanish, but have been translating the songs (s-l-o-w-l-y). I am starting to recognize words and phrases, and am beginning to understand the songs. I think I'm their biggest, non-Spanish speaking anglo fan! Anyway, that's about me. Am hoping to possibly meet someone in the forum who might live close to me, perhaps get together. Thanks! |
