Hi all, I am a beginning flamenco guitar player having just retired from playing drums in an aray of genres from jazz to blues to rock. I love flamenco and I am gradually getting the hang of it. I also enjoy having different guitars...i just love their look, smell, sound...etc. I live in perth, Western Australia...Flamenco scene almost non-existent...hard to find inspiration let alone a teacher. Currently having a Blanca made my Loba guitars ihn Canada, also hacve a Jeremy Locke (Australian Luthier, and my favourite practice guitar, a Cordoba F7. Unbelievable playability and sound for a $400 guitar...blows me away...that's al from me...be happy to hear from anyone out there...

I'm not sure where he lives, but I know of a man named Sal Bonavita who lives somewhere in Australia.

Thanks for replies....
Yes Sal is in Adelaide, and Adeliade has pretty good Flamenco scene as does Sydney...unfortunatley Adelaide is 5000Km (7000 miles) from Perth across the desert...I would love to try playing with dancer...even some basic compas...hopeful;ly find someone not too advanced...I am interested in peoples experiences with dancers...how good do you have to be...at what level can one start to do this...cheers |
