Hi Everyone!!
Hi my name is Rudy and I live in the beautiful Bay Area California. I first started playing guitar about 5 years ago and have been playing flamenco for about 4. I think my story is kinda unique.
I was a D1 collegian wrestler several years ago and have wrestled since the age of 4. I traveled all over the United States to compete and even to Europe. I picked up the guitar when I was 20 and could not stop playing. It consumed me so much that I actually stopped wrestling all together so I could pursue my dream of being a real flamenco artist. All my coaches, family, and friends think I am out my mind to leave behind years of blood, sweat, and tears to pursue a new sport (if you will). But the feeling I get when I play is undescribable and they just dont understand. I have been very conflicted leaving behind wrestling and I sometimes wonder if leaving wrestling was a smart decision. I went through some depression because it was weird not doing the sport which basically defined me. But lately flamenco makes me love life and cherish every minute of it. When I was wrestling I was living in vein and doing something I didn't truly love.
I am on this forum because I want to get better. Ideally, I would like to meet someone in the Bay Area who could help me improve on techniques like Golpe and Tremolo.
