My name is Eric and I am from Denver, Colorado. I am new to Guitar and am choosing Flamenco as my choice style. I know Flamenco is a very hard style to choose for a beginner, but I love challenges and having Spanish blood I want to learn the best that guitar has to offer and I believe that Flamenco is that style. I have been doing the Juan Martin Guitarra Flamenca lesson as well as the Gerhard Graf-Martinez lessons. They are challenging but I am learning alot. Falseta is definitely a place I feel comfortable being a part of. Thank you for being here!

Hi Eric,
Welcome to the forum! I had the same reason to start with flamenco and guitar in general... I think you get the most music out of a guitar when you play flamenco. Payul |

Hi Eric,
Denver is the home of one of the best guitarists in the U.S., Rene Heredia. I believe that he teaches. You should look him up. Roberto |

Eric,
In addition to having the grear guitarist Rene Heredia living here in Denver we also have Miguel Espinoza. I you want to excell I would suggest taking lessons from either one. I have been a student of Rene in the past and found him to be very traditional, teaching more in the style of Sabicas, Montoya, Nino Ricardo, ect. For myself it gave me a good foundation to start with. I currently study with Miguel who is much more modern in style, Tomatio, Moraito and the like. Learning from a book or a video will only take you so far. There is no substitute for learning from a human who can tell you what you are doing wrong and right. Best of luck. steve |
