Is Real Flamenco disappearing?

This is an interesting article that brings up several great points about Flamenco today... It talks about the transition of real performers from tablaos to festivals and concerts and how what is now being performed in tablaos is not really the real thing...

The point about how newer flamenco guitar players are like "athletes" playing with great technique, using tons of notes and playing super fast but with no feeling I think is very true...

If you have a moment read the article here:

Moraito Chico Bulerias Video

So I am surfing through YouTube when I find this cool Moraito Chico video... This guy has got some seriously long fingers...

Jason McGuire El Rubio

So I met Bolero Records Jason McGuire El Rubio who was with Yaelisa from Caminos Flamencos over the summer at the Flamenco Festival in Irvine... Jason turned out to be a cool guy and he mentioned he was working on something big and would be releasing it soon... He didnt say what at the time but I ran across a YouTube video of Jason McGuire playing bulerias with comments on the posters profile reading the following:

"...I will be starting an online guitar lesson website soon. http://www.flamenco-lessons.com

Thanks,

Jason"

Lets see if we can get a launch date confirmation for the site!
