Hi there,
I'm struggling with the timing for seguiriyas Juan Martin musical notation goes from 3/4 to 6/8. So the timing in the equivalent note in the 6/8 section should last twice as long as in the 3/4 section. Is that right? As it doesn't really sound like that from the cd Anybody know how the timing should work or if i've misread something here thanks Steve btw I'm very new to flamenco so forgive me if this sounds daft! |

hey steve,
welcome to the forum! first of all. forget about time signature for the moment. it's a weak system to notate flamenco music because there's no better alternative. you have to learn to count the flamenco way. this will help you learn and help you communicate with other flamencos. i count siguiriyas as 891011121234567 the bold numbers are accented same thing as solea but starts on 8 and ends on 6 check out this video YouTube - Understanding Flamenco - intro to flamenco guitar-clip 02-10
