Default Hi Leo

I've just logged in to Falseta.com again after an absence, and I'm impressed with your enthusiasm and energy at responding to and helping people who post on this site. I'm really surprised that we haven' met since I have been part of the flamenco community in Boston for a long time, and I have performed at Bar Lola, Tasca, Tapeo, Dali, Solea, and a number of other places in and around the city. If at some time you are present, please come forth and introduce yourself.

I played a restaurant in Chelmsford calle Cafe Madrid this past Saturday. They haven't had flamenco there in the past, but the audience was very appreciative so I think it's a venue with a lot of potential. The performance space is good for flamenco - intimate but with adequate space for dancers and musicians.

I'll be at MIT with Ramon de los Reyes and his family on the 24th of September in a program of Moorist and Flamenco music. If you can make it, by all means come back stage after the show and introduce yourself and meet the performers from Spain and the U.S.A. I expect the show to be a great success.

Abrazos,
Roberto Rios

Hey Roberto,
I'm very new to the scene, not even a full year in yet. I hear a lot of names, including yours, but many of these people I have not had the chance to meet in person. One of these names is Yvonne, who I believe you work with. I finally met her today at Omayra's workshop. I hope to meet you soon too as well.

I spoke with Larry from Cafe Madrid and we set up a date for Lauren and I to perform there in October. I was a bit worried, as this is the first gig I pulled together but I'm glad you enjoyed it and think it has potential. It's quite a drive though. Is the floor suitable for dance? I might have to bring my own dance floor. I'm going to make a new one for Bar Lola, because that thing is falling apart!

I will definitely be there for your show at MIT and would love to take up your offer to meet all of you! Thank you Roberto! I've seen Ramon around here and there, he's a very sharp dressed man. But I've never actually talked to him.

Thanks Roberto!

-Anthony

And Houston, my friend! I do not know anything about our flamenco scene personally, but I had a substitute teacher who took flamenco dance lessons. She told me that there is lots of flamenco dance in Houston. Anyway, we are the fourth-largest metropolitan area in the country and our majority demographic is Hispanic. There is bound to be some scene of interest to flamencos, yea, and anyone else too.

Hey, man, are you going to take on my challenge? Surely you have not outcomposed yourself! There is an apparent lack of participation in it so far. I need someone to take the initiative...

hey, i would love to. but i have material to prepare for dance classes, a four hour wedding gig next week, and just a bunch of other stuff.
since there's no time limit to these challenges, why dont you join some of the other challenges and we'll come back to the new one? it's one i'd really like to take on. however, the timing is not right.

Ah, yes, I understand. I have gotten away from practicing guitar a lot lately because I have been busy with school, so I am in a similar situation. Good luck with that wedding! Sounds fun.

Of course there is no time limit. I was just trying to make sure that you did not chicken out.
