I am relatively new to Flamenco. I only began my journey 10 months ago. And so the artists, performers, characters and music are very new to me. So at every turn there are discoveries to be made. Almost every day I turn up something that stops me for a moment. I might not understand the palo. I don't know what the canto means. And often I don't know the artist...

One journey lead me to a book - 'Song of the Outcast' - and one particular track on the accompanying CD.... an subtle alegrias by Chano Lobato.

It became one of my favourites. It shifts your soul with a cheeky smile and never fails to lift my spirit...
