Default Machineheads...

Anyone think that the quality, or not, of the guitar's machine heads adds anything to the tone of the guitar?

Pesonaly I think that the quality does not add or lose anyting from the tone.
But a lousy machine head is not always easy to tune good, and sometimes some more or less space between the parts can make some extra noice.

Maybe the weight of a machine head can do something to the tone, you could have some more sustain, but I am not sure of this.
I have seen a lot of discussion between a pegghead and a machine head about the weight.
