Haha, "Flamenco dancing folks, IN THE CAVES." This was a fun video to watch, I enjoyed it. I have yet to learn how to perform with a dancer, is it all improv? Or do you go through specific pieces? OR do you just do what feels right?

![]() first, you got to know what palo you're playing. each palo has a loose structure. the structure is dependent on the dancer. each dancer dances a bit differently. then from there, it's all improv and catching the cues and changes.

That is good too know!
Hopefully by next years time I will be able to play with dancers. My teacher and I are playing at my schools coffee house in April (Well, I will be playing, he will be doing palmas), hopefully I will get it recorded so I can post it! : )I must admit, I am loving the sound of your guitar. My teacher owners a 1978 Cesa Ferrer, Granada Flamenco Guitar, and yours sounds amazing even compared to his! I can't wait to get my own Flamenco Guitar in a few months time! ![]() |

That is sweet! I hope someday I will be able to visit Spain. What kind of flamenco guitar do you own at the moment, and the one you are getting tomorrow? And what is the approximate price that you would sell your old one for
![]() I am currently using a La Patrie Collection classical guitar, its a pretty decent guitar but it doesn't compare to a real flamenco guitar, but works great as a classical. Keep in mind I used to love this classical guitar for flamenco until I tried out a real Flamenco Guitar! Haha. Here is my youtube channel if you interested in the sound of it... The videos that I have on here are about a month old, and my timing and compas has improved much sense than. I have been working with timing for the past 3 weeks with my teacher; I will try to upload something new soon. YouTube - cRobson12's Channel Cheers! |

hey man,
i just watched all your videos. great work! you are definitely getting there. if you dont mind some suggestions... when doing thumb work, use a little bit more rotation of the wrist and less movement at the base of the thumb. you'll get a stronger sound with less effort and you'll get faster as well without getting tired as fast. for 3 finger rasgueaos, try flicking from the thumb for more separation and control. drop your hand when going down with the downstrokes and bring it up with the up stroke to accent the treble strings. keep it up! i used to play with a classical, and i learned A LOT from it. so in a way, this can actually help you. if you can make a guitar that is not supposed to sound flamenco actually sound flamenco, imagine what you can do when you get a real flamenco. ![]() the guitar i have now is a manuel rodriguez c3f. i put a lot of money and time upgrading it. i'm going to sell it for 300. the guitar that is, hopefully, coming tomorrow is a concert model flamenco by francisco navarro. cant wait! ![]()

)Besides, I have only been playing guitar for about 10 months, and 4 of those months on classical, and almost 3 on flamenco. I am sure some people never get to sound "Flamenco"ONLY 300? Or did you forget a zero? :O I am sure your new guitar will sound great! |
