Hello all!I live in Oxon, UK, and I have been playing guitars for quite a few years, acquiring a ragbag style of genres along the way. Like everyone else, Flamenco has always fascinated me....I could never seem to get my head around where to start. By chance, a couple of years ago I met a kind of Reinhardt /jazz style guitarist who mentioned the existence of a local flamenco Dance studio, where I could sit in, listen and learn. I found out then what a mountain it was to climb in trying to condense into a couple of years what normally takes a life time to learn. I was the only Guitarist to turn up at the studio one night, and was asked if I could play a simple Alegrias for the 20 or so dancers... ashamed that I couldn't and knowing what I needed to learn, it was then I decided to go away and acquire the basics, including, Rasgueado, 2, 3, 4, fingered tremolo ,rolling arpeggio, Rumba, and Alegrias,Solea/Soleares and Sevillanas dance pieces. Which is where I am today I hope this intro is not too long winded, and I look forward to contributing to the forum in anyway I can Vamo ya! Fedz |
