Default Flamenco in the Bluegrass . . .

Hi, My name is Paul, and I'm in Louisville, KY. There's been a flamenco scene of one kind or another here for thirty years (thanks to a dancer who moved here ages ago).
As groups dissolved or regrouped, we have wound up with four studios, and three performing groups.
I started out as a percussionist, getting involved with flamenco thanks to my wife, who is a dancer . . . maybe 6-7 years ago?
When we lost our previous guitarist rather suddenly, all eyes were on me . . . So I picked up the guitar maybe three years ago.
It's only been in the last year that I've started trying to play more than the basics for accompanying. Our group, Flamenco Louisville, covers a lot of palos, so I always have more homework.
I started taking a few classes with Marija Temo, from the DC area, last year. Our group tries to bring her in a few times a year.
And when we went to Spain this year, I was able to study with Juan del Gastor. I've been trying to up my dedication (especially to practicing!) ever since.
So, that's my nutshell.
Glad to be here!

When I saw this title, "Flamenco in the Bluegrass," I thought that it was going to be about someone doing a musical amalgam of flamenco and bluegrass! I thought that that would be pretty darn cool, especially considering that my friend just a little while ago recommended to me that we combine some folk and eastern music together. haha Anyway, welcome to the community!

Welcome aboard Paul!

When I get good enough with my guitar to go public I intend to do pretty much the same thing in the wiregrass region of South Georgia Where Bluegass music kind of dominates.
