Hello! I'm Joshua. I live in Sevilla, and am very grateful to be here in the center of the flamenco world. I play guitar, sing and dance a little bit too, and love to participate in flamenco as much as possible. I have been over here for around 10 years, previously in Granada.
Even so, I learn a lot about flamenco from people all around the world and it's clear even here in Sevilla that the participation of foreigners is one thing that keeps the music alive professionally. Many shows these days in sevilla are a complete mix of people from everywhere (except singers). I can offer help to anyone coming over here should they need some pointers on where to find flamenco or where to study. Other than this I work as a web programmer and started working on a flamenco classes site recently. We're working with artists here in Sevilla to try to help people outside of Spain learn some of the more difficult parts of flamenco over the internet (and also here by organizing courses). I don't want to spam here, but I think this site is of interest to communities like this. We offer classes for dancing, compás, singing and are interested in communicating those details that go beyond technique, but are so essential to flamenco. I hope you all can take a look and give some feedback! We are adding subtitles right now to many of the videos. I can't post the address since this is an intro message, but you can find it searching for "Flamencos por el Mundo" in google. Thanks and looking forward to interacting with you all! Joshua Sierles |
