Default Greetings From Bastrop Texas

This is John M Sandoval (Juan Manuel Sandoval) - I am healthy, 84 years old now in 2011 and played Flamenco guitar for 30 years in San Antonino Texas - Mexico and Spain, Madrid, Sevilla and Granada. Played at "Gitanerias Flamenco Tablao" in Mexico City.
Ramon de Algeciras, Paco de Lucia's brother and many others taught me to play Flamenco guitar.
I met Ramon de Algeciras in 1968 at the Spanish Pavillian where he was playing for the Carmen Rojas Flamenco troupe during "Hemisphere World's Fair in San Antonio Texas.
I own a Conde Flamenco guitar that Paco de Lucia selected for me in Madrid in 1968.
I also own a 1968 Flamenco Ramirez guitar that I purchased from Jose Luis Teruel in 1968.
I certainly wish I could play now like I used to play then, but I do have many pleasant Flamenco memories and recordings. Ole y Arza - good good good!

Good Luck to all devoted Flamenco Guitarists
Juan Manuel Sandoval

Hi Johnmsandoval

Some history have joined us!
Welcome to the forum.

If you have nice stories, or tips, do not hesitate to tell us :-)
Also a little quiestion...in the "old days" Guitarists seem to polish their nails with a piece of soft leather, ever heared of that?

Also, how is your Conde compared with your Ramirez? ( is the Ramirez with a ceder top)?
I am thinking of buying a Ramirez ceder in the future.

My Ramirez guitar has a peg head and a spruce top (superb tonal quality sound. So fine that I have kept it all these years as a priced possesion. My son will not let me sell it and he is serious about it. My Conde has a gipsy tone, spruce top, machine head. This guitar I have played all these years so it is in good condition but a little shop worn. My son does not let me sell them - he wants us to keep them for their colorful history.
If you are in the market for a really superb Flamenco guitar I recommend you order one from a Luthier named Mr. Tom Blackshear in San Antonio Texas.
This guitar maker does not release a guitar until he is satisfied that it is comparable to a Spanish Fernandez. He only makes three or Four guitars a year because as I say here he does not release a guitar until it is absolutely compare able to a Fernandez.
I would not say so, if this were not so !
