Thumbs up Flamenco Video of the Day

Here is a terrific Youtube video that captures the feel of the Moron de la Frontera experience of the late 60's and early 70's. This is pretty much how it felt to be there, in all it's power and simplicity.

Let's use this thread to make other online video recommendations, unless the administrator prefers to combine it with the DVD thread. Has anyone out there made a catalog of Youtube flamenco videos?

Also terrific are the Son de la Frontera videos on YouTube:

Great idea Bob! I changed the title of the thread to reflect your idea of keeping this thread ongoing hope you dont mind. Also made it a sticky so it will be up on top to check on.

Here is a song a I like to warm up with on bulerias and always liked the video as it has so many great Flamencos in it and its a great live performance.

Default Good idea

Great. I like this title. I was just thinking about how, as the Forum starts to fill up with many threads, it becomes difficult to get things noticed. I wondered, for example, where to put this Dieguito video post where the maximum number of people would see it. At first I was going to put it in the Moron thread, but I was afraid it would get buried there, so I decided to create a new video thread.

I guess that's your job as administrator. I would encourage you to rearrange the material at your discretion to make the Forum more navigable.

For anyone who's not aware already, the automatic e-mail notifications work great. Without these I think I would find keeping up with all the interesting threads overwhelming.

Thanks again for the thread suggestion! Keep the great thread suggestions coming, its everyones job to create the best Flamenco Forum possible.

Here is another video of Jeronimo Maya Maya when he is very young. The video is a bit grainy but the playing is amazing for such a young kid.

Bob were you in Moron de la Frontera in the 60 or early 70's? I never made it but learned from a guy that studied with Diego del Gastor. I started in 1971.

My favorite videos

These should take you back ... I was never in Moron or even Spain, but these take me back to learning Moron flamenco and make me feel as if I had been there. I have also read all Pohrens books on Moron and flamenco.
