Sorry for the confusion what I mean by "Spam" are people who sign up here and post about Viagra or Cell Phones, etc... Posts like that have no place here and do not contribute to our conversation on Flamenco. The people who do that do not care about Flamenco.

Thankyou for trying to eliminate spam, it's definitely not what we go here for....flamenco related topics are! My first thread came rather quickly but it was a flamenco topic. I guess that means I squezed it in but I guess it's always a matter of judgement and good taste. We should all respect the dignity of this forum, and thankyou also for keeping it free!

Default New Rules

Don't see a problem; the reason given for the change makes sense.

I am replying to new rule.

The nephew of Rancapinio, Manuel Orillo wrote me an email about my last painting, Cantan Los Cocineros. He told me that he was amazed to see his cousins in the painting.

Also he would like a painting of great Gypay singer, Rancapino, his uncle.
He sent a few picture of other members of the family with Rancapino's.

I was delighted to see that he like my work. One can see los Cocineros on my Flamenco blog, Flamenco De Cordoba

If one has not heard Rancapino there many examples on Youtube. He is the sound of the ancient past, what the people had to live through, a sound one can not learn.

Thanks for the info. I think it's a good idea that will give more control over the forums and ensure that new members are actually there to contribute in a way that benefits everyone.

Caesar you have the right idea. Controls are necessary because of spammers and crooks that have no good intention or reason to join a forum such as this one. It is better to have fewer members and a quieter forum than one with spam and constant turmoil, but can boast a large membership.

I recently spend a couple hundred cleaning up my computer. The worst virus that broke through my high security firewall was traced to a flamenco guitar makers site. He didn't even know some jerk had hijacked his site and installed a virus on it.

Answering 5 post is very reasonable and helps establish one's motive for joining a forum. Another idea might be to require an initial post to introduce oneself, but these profiles would not be viewable except to members with over 5 post and 30 days membership.

Caesar, You might find this program to be of help. It might be to your advantage to install Spammers IP address filter. The problem is many spammers steal IP addresses. this happened to me recently.
