First lady, Michelle Obama recently danced and played palmas to a zambra. She had spent her vacation in Spain dancing to the beat of Juan Andrés Maya and his family in a traditional cave in Sacromonte located in Granada, Spain.
During the Flamenco celebration, they played and danced a soleá, a recital of poem made by Federico García Lorca also performed by Curro Albaicín.
The first lady, according to Juan Andrés Maya, “plays palms very well because she is very artistic.” Maya even said that Mrs. Obama had invited them personally to the USA to play. In a gesture of their gratuity for Mrs. Obama’s visit, Maya and his family gave the first lady a typical Spanish fan as souvenir.
