Yaelisa from Caminos Flamencos will be holding some intensive Flamenco workshops in the month of June. Yaelisa an accomplished performer accompanied by the equally accomplished guitarist “El Rubio” will be heading the two workshops offered June 3 and June 24 2007.
The workshops for dancers are designed to learn to play palmas for a variety of dance styles (Tangos, Bulerias, Solea, Tientos, Tarantos, Siguiriyas), accompany other dancers and practice the differences in the compas, and practice the ‘signals’ necessary for the guitarist to read the dancer. Dancers will also learn how to communicate and dance Bulerias and Tangos more freely. Both workshops are open to beginner through advanced level students of dance, cante and guitar.
Students will be allowed and should record their session with video or recording devices. Workshop is $40 paid in advance or $50 at the door. Only 10 students per workshop will be allowed so make sure to register in advance.
