Default Thanks for the metronome!

Hey Mark,

Thanks for doing the metronome! The compas that I need the most is Tientos. Juan Martin in his instructional material outlines the difference between the usual way it's played, and the correct way. It's a subtle but important difference.

Cheers,

Brian

Hello Mark!

Any news on when you might post some files at sourceforge?

Do you need bribes of some sort? ;-)

Default Yeah, bribes!

Hey Mark,

How about a big discount on a set of Planetary Pegs? Have a look at my website:

planetarypegs.com

Stay in compás...

Brian Burns

Hello everyone,

I've been side tracked by a lot of things recently and haven't had a chance to work on the metronome. I should have time this weekend to hopefully put together a build based on the new code base. I haven't looked at the code for a while but I seem to remember last time I worked on it I made some good progress.

Brian I'll definitely look into adding support for Tientos as soon as possible as well. Thanks for the bribe offers as well, but I'm more than happy working on it for free when I get the time

Cheers,
Mark

Mark:

I don't mind the current set-up where we have to set-up our own pattern, but the ability to save them is necessary. The ability to export saved patterns would also be good.
The two reasons to be able to export these patterns would be:
  1. back-up
  2. sharing

If we could set up a repository for people to share and download patterns, this would allow you to better focus your time on different aspects of development and the user-base can provide a tientos pattern for the poster above.

Hello, I did a bit of work on the program last night. I had to switch to a more advanced sound library since the one I used from the original metronome wouldn't allow more than one sound to be played at one time which is important in the new design.

The new design will allow the user to add sounds to a given beat number and an offset from the beat on the compas for more complicated rhythms. Each position on the compas will support for having mutlple sounds assigned to it. It will behave pretty much like a simple sound sequencer.

I've got most of the behind the scenes stuff working, just need to hook it up to an interface. I'm hoping this can be done by next week.

Cheers,
Mark

Thanks very much Mark! I'm a beginner, so this will be a good substitute for Graf-Martinez's metronome. Are you able to put more development time into yours in the coming months? In any event, I'll work hard with your latest refinement. Have a Merry Christmas season down under next month!

Awesome stuff, Mark! I'm just getting into flamenco, and this will help out a lot. The version I downloaded allows me to choose different .wav files for the clicks, but I can't save any of the patterns I create. Is this something you're still working on, or might I have gotten an older verson?

Thanks again!
