I have been listening a lot to “Mi Forma De Vivir” by Duquende lately particularly for its tangos. Overall “Mi Forma De Vivir” is a good and balanced album which makes it easy for most Flamenco fans to enjoy. The first track called “Tu camisita de flores” is an instant classic and a great track to practice Tangos on guitar. Probably the most commercial of all the songs resembling the sound of Jose Merce you will be singing “Tu camisita de flores” all day long.
“Andar Y Andar (Buleria)”, “Sombras (Buleria)”, “Cuando Los Montes Se Allanen (Fandangos)” and “Al Son Del Viento (Alegrias)” are incredible tracks and manage to capture the old and new Flamenco sound. Duquende is someone who prides himself in rooting his cante in the old world Flamenco and that definitely comes across on many of the songs. It is great to see that Duquende is not entirely inflexible and was willing to experiment with the new Flamenco direction.
Although Paco de Lucia is missing from the credits on “Mi Forma De Vivir” the musicians that did play on this album are nothing short of the best.
